ERP for manufacturers

Softilo Make

The shop floor and the accounts agree every day.

Bills of materials, works orders, work in progress and finished goods sit in the same double-entry ledger as purchasing, sales, banking and VAT, so production costs are in the books as they happen.

For UK light manufacturers and assemblers

Softilo Make dashboard: works orders in planned, released, in production and completed columns, with capacity and shortages.

The problem

Small manufacturers run production in one tool or a spreadsheet and find out what a batch really cost at the month end, if at all.

What it does

6 things Softilo Make does properly

01

Multi-level BOMs

Batch output quantity, wastage per line and routing operations. A BOM that has been used is versioned, never edited.

02

Works orders

Issue components, book labour and overhead at standard rates, complete good and scrap units, and clear down what’s left.

03

Cost roll-up

Through every BOM level, split into material, labour and overhead.

04

Shortage planning

An MRP shortage report netted level by level against stock and open orders, with make and buy suggestions.

05

Routings and capacity

Versioned routings and rough-cut capacity by week from open works orders.

06

Packaging data (pEPR)

Half-year tonnage by material from invoiced sales, a fee estimate from rates you enter, and a CSV export.

Quality bars

Rules it doesn’t break.

The books always balance
An unbalanced journal is refused by the database at commit, and money is never held as a floating-point number.
History can’t be rewritten
Journals and the audit log are append-only. A correction is a new entry.
Each business sees only its own
Postgres row-level security keeps companies apart, even if application code has a bug.
WIP matches the ledger
Integrity checks tie stock, goods received and work in progress back to the books.

  • Time-phased MRP and a finite-capacity schedule board
  • A shop-floor kiosk
  • Batch traceability
  • Frozen standard costs
  • Plastic Packaging Tax returns
  • UKCA/CE records
